I don't think you can tell just how bad it was. By the time I took these pictures, I'd already removed a flouncy ruffled polyester shower curtain and a big hideous window shade (the room is so narrow that the two almost met in the middle). And you can't see that the wallpaper is falling off the walls. But you get the idea that this was not my favorite room.
To quote the previous owner, "Bold color choice." But hey, I like it, despite the slight Dr. Seuss quality. It's certainly much cheerier. You can't see here, but the yellow part of the walls is sponged, so it's not solid yellow (even I probably wouldn't be able to handle that). Also practically invisible are the new soapdish and toothbrush holder that keep with the hydrangea theme and some rag rugs I discovered on clearance that perfectly matched this rather odd color scheme (is it a wonder no one else bought them?) Oh, and by the way, that is not pink, but a kind of hot coral. I don't do pink.
